Workshop Presenters

We are proud to have the following presenters at our Rallies this year, sharing their knowledge with us.

// West Rally // June 28-30, 2019 // Morro Bay, CA

Alisa Clickenger, Author
Founder of Women’s Motorcycle Tours

Twenty years ago, Alisa Clickenger had a dream in which she was running for her life. In waking life, she was in the middle of a painful divorce. Within this dream she found salvation in the form of a motorcycle and sped away from imminent danger. Never having ridden a motorcycle before, Alisa awoke with the sensation of mastery over machine and wind in her hair. The metaphor of motor‐cycling saving her life has become increasingly clear to her, and in 2006, Alisa quit her job as Director of Operations for an IT company and decided to re-invent herself as a moto-traveler and writer.

In 2009-2010, Alisa went on a seven-month, solo motorcycle journey from New York to Argentina, riding through Mexico, and Central and South America by herself. She’s ridden across America multiple times and other motorcycle trips have taken her to Alaska, all over Europe, India, Israel, Cuba, Serbia, Bosnia, Montenegro and most recently Southern Africa.

Alisa’s mission is to support and empower other riders, particularly women, to achieve their two-wheeled dreams. Sharing the wisdom she’s gained on the open road, Alisa is now a coach for women who want to grow their business, mindset, dreams, and capacity. Through her female-focused motorcycle touring company, http://www.WomensMotorcycle Tours.com, Alisa offers life-changing experiences on two wheels.

In May Alisa was named to Dealer News magazine’s Top 100 Leaders in Powersports and is the author of Boost Your Confidence through Motorcycling: A Woman’s Guide to Being Your Best Self On and Off the Bike, which she will be signing at the WSR rally. Sign up to ride cross-country with Alisa in 2020 celebrating Women’s Freedom and our Right to Vote at http://www.CentennialRide.com.

Tricia Szulewski, Associate Editor, Women Riders Now

Tricia Szulewski is the associate editor for WomenRidersNow.com.

Her part-time duties include writing, editing, and proofing stories, as well as performing a myriad of other tasks that help keep the website running smoothly.

For the last 20 years, Tricia has been making a living full-time as the creative director at TAM Communications, publisher of American Iron Magazine and Garage Build.

She began riding motorcycles in 1995, and in 2008 she became an MSF RiderCoach. Tricia lives in Bethel, CT, with her wife, Mary, and daughter, Kaia.

Tricia owns a 2001 Suzuki Bandit 1200S and the 2016 BMW S 1000 XR she plans to ride to this year’s WSRE. She will be speaking about pushing past fear to accomplish your goals.

Carrie Smith, Founder of Woodland43 LLC
Inventor of Pocklette™

Carrie is a graphic designer by trade, but a problem solver, and an entrepreneur by nature. She’s a hard worker and would likely keep her job if she won the lottery (remoting in from her new island of course). Carrie is a very positive person who will always be honest with you. She’ll be nice about it, but firmly believes we grow through honesty and kindness. A thick skin is required to survive in the wild marketing and design jungle. Hers came with a delightful side of sarcasm. Carrie enjoys working on her home with her family, riding motorcycles, watching movies, traveling, inventing, dreaming, and creating.

Carrie will be speaking on behalf of her invention, Pocklette™, which will be exclusively launched at the Rally.

Wendy Crockett, Endurance Rider
Winner of the 2019 Iron Butt Rally

Wendy Crockett is the first ever woman to win the Iron Butt Rally. 2019, the year of her victory, was her fifth time participating in the grueling event. 102 riders were tasked with completing 11,000 miles in eleven days and stopping along the way to get proof of their accomplishments. It is not just a ride in a straight line, however. Checkpoints are set up along the way with point values assigned to each destination, so it’s not just an ultra-long-distance ride, but a puzzle, as well. Wendy Crockett cracked it.

Wendy is not just a long distance rider, and a damn good one, but she also used to own and operate Cyclesmiths in Kernville, CA. These days she lives in Rapid City, SD and is a mechanic at Sturgis Motorsports. To say she’s prepared for anything that she encounters on the road would be an understatement.

Wendy will be hanging out at the Yamaha demo truck throughout the event for personal meet-and-greet opportunities and informal Q&A sessions.
