*Schedule is subject to change (time, location, activity). A printed version of the confirmed final schedule will be provided at Rally check-in.
Rally Check-in/Registration: Let us know you’ve arrived! We’ll ask you to sign a waiver and provide/update emergency contact info. Pay the registration fee if you haven’t done so already. Confirm or sign up for group rides and workshops, if space is available. You’ll receive your official printed schedule, a map and your personal swag bag full of amazing sportbikegirl goodies.
Rally 101: Our “Intro to WSR” discusssion for Rally newcomers and their guests. Here you will get a detailed rundown our activities and locations, with insider knowledge to help you have a smooth weekend and not miss anything important. You can also ask all the questions your heart desires without feeling silly. You’ll meet and get to know the Rally Director and some of the staff as well. Last but not least, you can meet other Rally newbies and join forces to defeat the uncertainty that comes along with attending any event for the first time, no matter how long you’ve been riding (it never goes away, but it does get better, we promise!).
WSR Bike Night: Gather with the entire Rally for the first time at a local kitchen and lounge. “572 Social” is an easy 5 minute walk from Rally headquarters, or you can ride and park on Pine Knot Blvd. (the main street in Big Bear Village) right in front of the restaurant to show off your machine. Parking is first come, first served. Door Prizes will be given away throughout the evening. Guests are welcome! Appetizers are provided for registered attendees. Additional food and alcohol is available for purchase. 572 Social closes at 11pm, but you are free to come and go as you please throughout the night. PLEASE: If you ride, don’t drink. If you drink, don’t ride!
Breakfast: Book your room at the Lodge with the Rally Group Code and breakfast is included for everyone listed on the reservation. Timing is informal. Find your fellow Sportbikegirls and pull up a chair, or go solo with a cup of joe – anything goes.
Group Rides Meet/Safety Briefing: MANDATORY TO PARTICIPATE. Meet in the Lodge’s parking lot for a short safety meeting reminding us all to mind our manners and ride within our limits. Group rides will break off and discuss routes, planned stops, photo ops, lunch, etc… if you register and sign up early, you’ll already know the full plan and the girls riding in your group! You must attend the safety briefing to participate in the group rides.
Workshops: Learn from industry professionals for free. Register and sign up early to guarantee a seat in the seminars of your choice. Visit the WEST Workshops link for a detailed synopsis of each workshop and the amazing women who are facilitating.
Off-Bike Group Photo: Gather outside before sunset to get a group photo in front of the Lodge. If you are choosing to wear a costume during the Be Your Own Hero Parade Lap, you’ll want to be wearing it now. We’ll ride immediately after the shutter clicks.
Be Your Own Hero Parade Lap: We pay homage to this year’s theme by encouraging you to create a costume that embodies your inner super hero. Are you a winged fairy princess ballerina? Does your magical unicorn horn and rainbow mane poke through your helmet? Is that a luchador mask and full lycra bodysuit under your leathers? The possibilities are endless! You can wear it over or under your gear (or keep it in your closet at home), it’s up to you. We’ll do a lap around Big Bear to show our hero pride, with a quick stop at Boulder Bay Park to get individual photos with Louie the Bear – the city’s beloved wooden statue. Then we’ll return to the lot where we started. Max ride time is 30 minutes. Max speed is 35mph.
On-Bike Group Photo: We’ll stay on the bikes for a quick line-up in the parking lot for one last pic. You don’t need to participate in the parade lap to be in the group photo, just make sure to be outside when we’re setting up!
Be Your Own Hero Costume Party: Gather on the patio at Stillwell’s, the Lodge is reserving it exclusively for the Rally. Guests are welcome! Food and drinks/alcohol are available for purchase. Stay in costume (not mandatory) because we’ll be celebrating and rewarding the super heroes in all of us by raffling off some awesome prizes. We’ll discuss and laugh about the rides, workshops and parade lap – we can’t wait to hear your stories from the day! A preview of photos from the weekend will be available. Any sponsors or vendors attending will get a chance to showcase their products, answer questions and provide demos. This might be your last chance to break bread and mingle with your fellow sportbikegirls, workshop facilitators, Rally staff, industry professionals and guests all at once (at least until next year).
Bike Wash: Arrive dirty, leave… dirty-minded. Yes, it’s even in the rear lot (we put Baby in the corner). Bikes will be washed, hearts will be stolen. If that doesn’t register, just watch this video from the 2016 WEST Rally Bike Wash. Now shhh… words just ruin it.
